- Beef 1/2 Kg
- Basmat rice 1/2 kg
- 2 large Onions
- garlic and ginger to make 1 1/2 tablespoon paste
- 2 large potatoes
- 2 large Tomatoes blended
- eggs 3 boiled (option)
Powder spices
- Curry powder 1/2 teaspoon
- cumin powder 1/2 tablespoon
- turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
- nutmeg 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala 1/2 or Biryani masala 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt
Liquid
- Vegetable oil
- Water 1/2 cup for meat boiling
- Yogurt 1/2 cup
- lemon juice 3 tablespoon
- food colour
Whole spices
- fresh coriander
- Cardamon 3 cloves)
- Cloves 3
- black pepper 5
- cinnamon stick 2
DIRECTIONS FOR THE BIRYANI SAUCE
- Cut beef into desired pieces, wash and clean the meat well
- Take the Medium Pan, Put on medium heat, heat the pan, then add 3/4 cup oil.
- Add onion slices, fry until golden brown, then take out 1/2 of onion set aside for later use.
- Add clean meat into the pan containing fried onion, mix well until meat changes color, then add ginger+garlic paste mix well, then cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
- Add sliced tomatoes, Curry powder,cumin powder,turmeric powder,garam masala ,(salt) and water then bring to boil.(approx. 1 hr)
- While waiting meat to boil, fry potatoes then set aside, Boil some eggs,remove shells set aside.
- When the meat is tender add fried potatoes.
- Add yogurt 1/2 cup mix well let it cook for 1 min then add lemon juice
- Add fried onions,add boiled eggs.
- Add fresh chopped coriander (1/2 bunch) mix well, then remove from heat.
- Wash the rice and soak rice for 30 minutes before cooking
- Take the large pan, pour some water (enough to cover your basmat rice), add cardamon seeds(hiliki),cinnamon sticks, cloves, black pepper, and salt let the water boil.
- Add the soaked basmat rice into boiled water pan cover the pan with the lid, and reduce the heat the lowest.
- Take the food color add some water, then pour on top of basmat rice,
- cover the lid again for 2 minutes, then mix the rice with spoon, then your rice is ready.
SERVING BASMAT RICE
-Take the plate, serve the basmat rice first, then take the rojo or sauce pour on top of the basmat rice.
